Incident status update

We are currently caring for 241 patients with Covid-19 with 62 in critical care and 179 on our inpatient wards. There are 21 inpatients waiting for Covid-19 test results.

Pressures remain on critical care and green medical beds in the organisation. There are 94 patients in critical care beds including those now located in the orthopaedic recovery area.

Eight wards have bays closed due to Covid-19 outbreaks and ward G6 is now empty and prepared to become the next red ward.

Thank you to everyone working flexibly this weekend.

Urgent call for infusion pumps

Please could all wards establish whether they have any infusion pumps that are no longer needed. Any pumps not in use must be returned immediately to the medical equipment library to be cleaned and issued elsewhere. This will help us address supply issues with these devices. Thank you.

Reminder asymptomatic testing

We are pleased to announce that from Tuesday 19 January from 10:00 (not Monday 18 January as previously advised) the swab distribution for our asymptomatic testing programme will be located in the food court.

Details of how to obtain swab packs from now are available on the staff portal.
