As we know, due to government restrictions Stagecoach must limit the number of people who can travel on each bus. With lockdown restrictions easing and more people returning to public transport, they have seen a significant increase in demand for local bus services

Additional services and timetable changes have therefore been introduced to support safe travel and provide greater capacity:

  • To ensure extra buses can be provided for routes with capacity issues, such as route 13, the Milton Park & Ride service will be temporarily suspended from Monday 10 May.
  • Cambridge’s Park & Ride services have been reintroduced every 10 minutes, to ensure extra capacity and help with social distancing.
  • The Busway C service has returned to ensure a service every 5-minutes on the main Busway during peak travel times from Monday to Friday.
  • The V2 service has been extended between March and St Ives for those who wish to travel to Cambridge and on to CUH.

Passengers who currently use the Milton Park and Ride service are advised to use the Newmarket Road or Madingley Road Park and Rides as alternatives, until the limit on passenger numbers is increased and normal operation can resume.

If you are planning to travel, please use the Stagecoach Bus App which has been updated to include a Space Checker. This enables you to identify quiet bus times and see how busy your bus is likely to be.

Stagecoach apologise for any inconvenience, but hope passengers will understand that capacity issues are being experienced on a national scale. Each local operation is doing everything they can to ensure the resources they have are used to ensure essential local bus services are maintained.
